FAQ’s

An assisted living lifestyle offers seniors an independent environment while providing basic assistance with their activities of daily living. Services may include daily meals, 24 hour staffing, housekeeping and laundry services, apartment maintenance, scheduled transportation, social and recreational activities, medication assistance, bathing assistance, and other personal assistance as needed. Common lounges, TV rooms, library, exercise rooms, and dining rooms are included in most Assisted Living communities.

What is an Assisted Living community?

An assisted living facility is a safe and secure environment where seniors can enjoy a relatively independent lifestyle but also receive support with certain activities of daily living. Our facilities also provide active residents the ability to maintain a social environment where seniors can meet other people in the same stage of life.

What Are Activities of Daily Living?

Needing help with ADL’s is the most common reason seniors prefer assisted living. The most common ADL’s are; bathing, dressing, toileting, bed transfer, eating and medication administration. Our trained staff members are on hand to help you perform these tasks safely while still respecting your independence.

What is an Independent Living Community?

Independent living is for active seniors who are able to live on their own in an apartment or house, but who still want the conveniences of living within a community that provides services and amenities such as housekeeping, social activities, dining, transportation, and/or security.

How is assisted living different from a nursing home?

Assisted living does not provide advanced, round-the-clock medical care. If a resident has specific conditions like advanced Alzheimer’s, a skilled nursing home would be more equipped to handle that higher level of care.

You may not know what level of care you or your loved one needs, and that is not a problem at all. One of our administrators can easily help asses and determine the level of care needed for your loved one.

Do residents need their own car?

There is no requirement for a personal vehicle. We provide scheduled transportation services for our residents. Anything from Dr. appointments to running simple errands.

What can a new resident bring with them when they move in?

While other communities have different guidelines, our residents have the ability to either move into a fully furnished unit or personalize their space with their own belongings.

How big are the rooms? Can couples live together?

Our communities offer a variety of room sizes and styles to fit your particular needs. The styles vary between communities, but floor plan options include studio and one/two bedroom apartments. All apartments have private bathrooms and kitchenettes. Couples can live together, yes!
